Ever wonder why despite of the flame inside the Jack o' Lantern it remains peacefully smiling? Here's the story...

Once there was a Pumpkin who fell in love with St Elm's fire...



Pumpkin named Jack...

St. Elmo's fire named Elma...

Their love story begun one night before the Halloween...

In a gathering where all the ghostly beings, spirits, witches, ghouls and poltergeist meet...

A gathering where Elma is going to attend...

It is done in a graveyard... Where the damned and the cursed lay down...

Before reaching the graveyard, Elma passed by a garden...

This is where she met Jack...

"Hey"

Elma stopped and took notice of Jack....

"Can I have your name?" continued Jack...

Elma didnt answer...

"My name's Jack"

"I am Elma... I have to go."

"But why? Cant you stay a little longer?"

"I cant, I'm running out of time."

"Cant you take me with you?"

"I really cant. "

"Then take me with you."

"Stop the idea."

"Explain to me why."

"If you're going with me, you have to let go of something."

"What is that thing?"

"Your life."

"Really?(Surprised)"

"Yes. don't you know what I am? I'm a St Elmo's Fire. I'm a spirit of a departed person."

"And so?"

"If you're going with me, you have to...die."

"Is that the only way for me to be with you?"

"Yes."

"You said that you're a fire right?"

"Uh yes"

"If I'm going to die, I want you to burn me."

"What?!"

"Just for me to be with you, I want to be burned alive by you... Take my life"

"You're crazy. Why are you doing this.?"

"If loving you makes me crazy, then let me be crazy. I'll be doing the craziest thing just to be with you."

"This is nonsense."

"Nonsense it may seem, I dont care ever year you passed by my garden I have loved you.."

"You have seen me before?"

"Yes, every year I am looking at you and dreaming that someday you may be able to take me wherever you are going."

"(Touched) This is the first time someone made me feel I am wanted. Most often than not whenever anyone sees me they run away. But you..."

"Because I love you."

"Thank you. But you're request is too much."

"Just let me be with you."

"How could I not resist you. Let me give you back the love that you have given me."

After uttering those words, Elma with all her flame wrapped around Jack.

But surprisingly, Jack didn't feel any pain.

He only felt the warmth of Elma...

Instead of being burned to ashes Jack became a container of Elma's Fire.

The love of Jack enabled him to overcome the heat of Elma's fire.

Now that's the reason why the Jack o' Lantern despite of the fire burning inside, it remained smiling.
